Each placement offers the opportunity to learn and have experience in clinic, have contact with patients with different conditions, needs and goals.

The aim of the placement is to learn what orthotics is and the impact of orthotics on patients. This ranges from simple devices to conditions that are highly complex.

This placement maybe at QMC or City campus.

Applicants are encouraged to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

You will be required to attend an induction session before your placement, we will book you onto a session in line with your placement start date.

Smart dress. Flat comfortable shoes. Bare below the elbows. Long hair tied back and only one set of stud earrings, no other jewellery.


The student must be considering Allied Health Professions or a medical field – dentistry field won’t be accepted.

Due to the demand for work experience placements, all work experience applicants must be Nottinghamshire residents or attend full-time education in Nottinghamshire. Applicants must attend an induction before they can attend the placement.

If you are successful, we can only co-ordinate one placement per person, per academic year, through the directory of placements. This is due to the demand for placements.
