Observe a comprehensive range of diagnostic hearing and balance procedures for both adults/children, based on national evidence and guidelines. Observe diagnosis, analysis, interpretation and advice to other professionals, clinicians and patients/carers. Observe the development, implementation and evaluation of hearing rehabilitation programmes for new referrals, including advice to patients/carers, type of hearing instrument and the level of counselling and ongoing care that is appropriate for each individual. Observe the assessment of patient condition and judgement on the suitability of tests.
Applicants must show evidence of wanting to follow a career in Audiology or other Healthcare Science. Only applicants who intend to become Audiologists or Healthcare Scientists will be considered for this placement.

On the first day of the placement please report to the Audiology department in the King’s Mill Treatment Centre. The Audiology department is situated in Clinic 8 on the 1st floor of the King's Mill Treatment Centre and is accessible by stairs or lifts. Please report to Cheryl Gamlin at 8.30am in Clinic 8E. Please note, this placement will require you to wear PPE including hospital scrubs, gloves and a facemask.

Flat comfortable shoes. Bare below the elbows. Long hair tied back and only one set of stud earrings, no other jewellery.
Applicants will need to change into hospital scrubs before observing clinics. Hospital scrubs will be provided. Applicants must follow the specific dress code requirements of the placement, as advised by the placement supervisor.
Due to the demand for work experience placements, all work experience applicants must be Nottinghamshire residents or attend full-time education in Nottinghamshire.
