Morris Ward is a 20 bedded Cardiac Surgery Ward.
Our patients consist of:
• Patients from tertiary centres (other hospitals – Derby, Lincoln, etc.)
• In house urgent transfers
• Patients pre and post Cardiac Surgery
• Re-admissions from Home, clinics, etc.
• Outliers (Cardiology)
What a work experience candidate may see:
• Ward Rounds with the medical team (Junior doctors, Registrars and Consultant Surgeons)
• Emergency responding to urgent and/ or life threatening situations.
• Nursing rounds (a full day of a Cardiac Surgery Nurse)
• Dressing changes
• Full vital signs being taken by the nursing team
• Nurse in Charge rounds (Full day of a Nurse in Charge)
You will be required to attend an induction session before your placement, we will book you onto a session in line with your placement start date.

Smart, professional clothes, with no trainers. Long hair tied back and only one set of stud earrings, no other jewellery. Bare below the elbow.
Restrictions Are placements available all year round? If not, please provide details when placements aren't available. Only restriction would be to monitor how many students the ward has at the requested time.
