Our team is made up of Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, Therapeutic Involvement Workers and Students.
We aim to enhance the patient involvement, engagement and experience - whilst establishing a sense of community.
There will be opportunity to have career conversation with the team, as well as shadowing and supporting the delivery of holistic therapeutic activity across our wards.
We deliver our service using the 5 ways to Wellbeing, underpinned by an Occupational Therapy evidence-base. As such, possible opportunties could include:
Be Connected:
Providing and facilitating social events which bridge together people, wards and the wider community.
Possible Sessions:
Coffee Mornings, Themed Quiz, Games/Board Games, Themed Events, Off-ward Workshops, Super Social Bingo
Be Active:
Providing and facilitating physical activity and opportunities for patients, both in and out of the hospital setting.
Possible Sessions:
Group Walks, Boccia, Football, Dance, Seated Exercise, Table Tennis, Boxing, Gym, Wii Fit, Yoga, Basketball, Sports Days
Take Notice:
Providing and facilitating environments that patients can use as mindful, therapeutic and empowering.
Possible Sessions:
Gardening Group, Patient Artwork for Wards, Mindfulness-based or Relaxation Sessions
Keep Learning:
Providing and facilitating opportunities to learn and experience new and creative skills.
Give to Others:
Providing and facilitating fundraising and charitable events, that enable patient involvement and investment.
