Clinical Neurophysiology

Clinical

Clinical Neurophysiology is a diagnostic and monitoring service covering all of NUH and much of SFH and some primary care services. We provide a range of diagnostic investigations and monitoring procedures for any patient presenting with central and peripheral nervous system problems. The range of conditions seen includes epilepsy, spinal deformity, peripheral nerve entrapments, motor neuron disease and sleep disorders such as narcolepsy. We see both inpatients and outpatients of all ages from premature babies to older people including those in intensive care units. The range of tests that may be seen include EEG, evoked potentials, EMG, spinal cord monitoring and sleep studies (PSG). Students will hopefully see a variety of tests but it will depend on what day(s) the placement occurs.

You will be required to attend an induction session before your placement, we will book you onto a session in line with your placement start date.
