The Children's Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service provides support to children who have speech, language and communication needs across the Nottingham City and County. Care is provided in the most appropriate setting for each child.
Students may work in clinics, schools or homes or may observe telehealth (video) appointments via Microsoft Teams with the team that is providing the placement. They will also have the opportunity to observe assessment/ therapy / clinical administrative duties (i.e. record keeping etc.). Students may need to travel to team bases in different areas of the City / County of Nottinghamshire.
Students must be considering studying SLT at University. This placement is not relevant for those applicants who wish to study medicine and become a doctor as the role of a doctor is very different to the role of an SLT. This placement takes place at community locations and does not take place in a hospital setting.
