Healthcare for Older People


Clinical


Accompany me on ward rounds and clinics- fully supervised
The students will follow the work of healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians and speech and language therapists. The department specialises in healthcare for older people and the students will experience how a multidisciplinary team work together to treat illnesses affecting this age group of patients. Furthermore the students will see ethical issues that arise in managing older persons and how these are resolved. Students will also get a chance to go to an outpatients setting, By speaking with the healthcare professionals the student will learn not only about the satisfaction of working in the NHS but also about some of the challenges

You will be required to attend an induction session before your placement, we will book you onto a session in line with your placement start date.
