This work experience placement is for young people with an interest in communications, design or marketing.
Below are some of the Team’s responsibilities some of which you may be involved in:
1. Internal communication - Working with people and culture colleagues and our executive leadership team to deliver strategic internal communications across the Trust. This includes sharing important information, updates, campaigns and announcements with colleagues, facilitating colleague engagement, and promoting a positive organisational culture.
2. External communication - Engaging with stakeholders, including patients, carers, partners, media, and members of the public. Our aim is to maintain a positive brand image, manage media enquiries and effectively coordinate external messaging.
3. Media relations - Creating positive relationships with the media and journalists, effectively managing their enquiries and requests for information and interviews. We promote positive stories with media releases to boost our reputation and we are also able to provide media training for our Trust spokespeople to ensure effective, clear and expert communication of our messages.
4. Crisis communication - We proactively safeguard and enhance the Trust's reputation, managing and mitigating potential crises. This involves strategic crisis communications plans, coordinating timely responses, and delivering precise information to both internal and external stakeholders.
5. Content creation - Producing a range of different online and offline content, from articles, videos, blogs and social media posts, to posters, leaflets and banners. We deliver captivating and informative content that aligns with the Trust's values and objectives.
6. Social media management - Managing the Trust's social media presence and developing effective social media strategies. We create engaging content, interact with followers, monitor conversations, and promptly respond to comments or enquiries to ensure a responsive online presence.
7. Branding and messaging - Leading on the development and maintenance of the Trust's branding and messaging, ensuring consistency across all communications channels and platforms.
8. Event management - Assisting with the planning, organising and marketing of various types of Trustwide events, including our Annual General Meeting and our OSCARS annual colleague recognition scheme.
9. Connect and trust website - Responsibility for editorial control of the Trust’s website and intranet (Connect) and work with IM&T colleagues to help teams to ensure their areas are kept up to date. Our focus is to promote the Trust’s services, share relevant and valuable information, and engage with staff, patients, carers, partners and stakeholders.
10. Measurement and analysis - We use a range of tools to track and measure the effectiveness of our communication efforts. By analysing data and gathering feedback, we gain valuable insights that allow us to continuously improve our communications, ensuring they align with the Trust's objectives and meet the needs of our audiences.
11. Awards and recognition - Assisting services and individuals to submit nominations for national and local awards. We also manage Positive Stars, the monthly staff recognition scheme.
12. Digital content creation - Offers support in content production across a wide array of formats, from videos and professionally recorded audio to engaging infographics and interactive presentations.
13. Graphic design - Assists with content creation, from flyers, posters and pull-up banners to digital assets for Connect, the Trust website, social media, and for digital advertising.
14. Photography and video production - The team has access to industry standard software and equipment to take professional photos and create engaging video content for promotional, instructional, and informative purposes for use across a wide range of platforms.
15. Branding - We offer branding advice and assist in developing content aligned with the Trust's vision and values.
16. Event technical support.
