This placement is full to capacity for 2024 however we are accepting advanced placement applications for 2025.

Please note: Work Experience applicants need to apply at least 8 weeks before the placement start date. Later applications may not be processed.

Students can experience the Specialist Nurses and Exercise Physiologist delivering Cardiac Rehabilitation to patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, both as inpatients on the wards and as outpatients in the department. They can experience the exercise element from a patient perspective and participate in the exercise sessions delivered to patients. There will also be a chance to experience the educational component with the opportunity to attend our ACS (Acute Coronary Syndrome) Talk, depending on the day/date of placement. Students can observe the team when completing assessments of patients, providing support and guidance and carrying out final reviews and referrals to community services on completion of their rehab programme.
Applicants should have a keen interest in Cardiology/Cardiac Rehabilitation/Health Promotion.
