About NHS Communications.
There’s never been a time in the history of our NHS when communication is more important than right now.

NHS communications teams have been working to tell the story of how the NHS is rising to the challenge of meeting the changing needs of the local communities they serve – as well as keeping hard-working NHS staff updated about the part they have to play.

Communicators play an essential role in making a difference in their local NHS by working with the media to share essential messages, marketing careers opportunities to prospective job seekers and keeping NHS staff informed about their work.

The Communications team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals is looking to work with the next generation of talented communicators who have an interest in media production, communications and marketing. In exchange, we can offer rewarding short-term work placements and work experience opportunities to promising candidates with an interest in working in NHS communications. Sound interesting? We’d love to hear from you!

Happy to offer placements on the following basis:
- Demonstrable interest in communications or a related field
- Have completed or be studying towards an university course or A Levels (in second year) in a course relevant to the communications, marketing or media field.
- Ideally be a rolling commitment, rather than a one-off commitment
- Avoid school holidays

Please note: Work Experience applicants need to apply at least 8 weeks before the placement start date. Later applications may not be processed.
