Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU)

Placement as an observer on the Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at Nottingham Children’s Hospital. The unit looks after very unwell infants and children who require lifesaving medical and surgical treatment.
You will observe daily ward rounds and medical team activities. You may also be able to shadow the critical care nurses and other allied professionals.
Due to the nature of the environment you may see things that upset or distress you. We will do our best to protect you from this and will support you if this occurs.

Report to the Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) on E floor, East Block at the QMC for 8:30am. Please ask for the consultant in charge.

Smart, professional clothes, with no trainers. Long hair tied back and only one set of stud earrings, no other jewellery. Bare below the elbow.
