Paediatric Surgery and Urology Ward D35

Students would join the Paediatric Surgery team for a week and be a part of the day to day life of the junior doctors. Applicants will take part in the daily activities of the surgical team and be a part of the surgical ward round, emergency admissions and theatres as well as watch a variety of interventions including endoscopy and surgery.

Please note that this placement is not a specific training or teaching placement but a real taste of what life is like on a surgical unit.

You will be required to attend an induction session before your placement, we will book you onto a session in line with your placement start date.

Flat comfortable shoes. Bare below the elbows. Long hair tied back and only one set of stud earrings, no other jewellery.

Applicants must follow the specific dress code and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements of the placement.



Due to the demand for work experience placements, all work experience applicants must be Nottinghamshire residents or attend full-time education in Nottinghamshire. Applicants must attend an induction before they can attend the placement.

If you are successful, we can only co-ordinate one placement per person, per academic year, through the directory of placements. This is due to the demand for placements.
