Widening Access to Medical School (WAMS) Gastroenterology/Endoscopy

Nottingham University Hospitals is committed to widening access to medical school. We aim to encourage applications from under-represented groups including care leavers, pupils from lower socio-economic groups, or attending schools with low progression into higher education and those who are the first generation in their family to consider higher education.
Applicants should be committed to applying to medical school and have the necessary GCSE grades and A Levels/predicted A levels, including sciences, for entry to medical school.
Applicants will be able to observe in wards, clinics and endoscopy teaching.
Hours are 8am-4pm.
Successful applicants will be also be invited to attend a session to meet medical students and obtain guidance with applying to medical school. The invite to attend this session will be sent to you via Eventbrite.
Applicants are encouraged to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Due to the demand for work experience placements, all work experience applicants must be Nottinghamshire residents or attend full-time education in Nottinghamshire. Applicants must attend an induction before they can attend the placement.
If you are successful, we can only co-ordinate one placement per person, per academic year, through the directory of placements. This is due to the demand for placements.
